Libby recently purchased a camera phone, so we've been trying to figure out how to set it up to be able to send her pictures through email, and also to our new
In The Roo Mobile Weblog. We finally figured it out, so I thought I'd post some instructions.
To activate your phone for MMS (Multi-media Messaging Service), you need to send the text message "ALTA" (no quotes) to the phone number 789. Then you need to wait about 24 hours for them to activate your service. You will either get a "success" or "failure" type response from the service after you send the message. The word "ALTA" needs to be capitalized!
After your service is activated, you need to make sure that your phone settings are correct for sending MMS messages. Here's some information I found online regarding the setup parameters:

Then save the settings and restart your phone. You may need to set your current proxy to the correct setting.

Then go to GPRS Settings.

Then save the settings and restart your phone.
