I agree with Gingele. I've brought the kids a few times, and when they were that young, non-AI's were a challenge just because of the fact that the rooms generally are smaller, don't have the entertainment that the large AI's have, and often don't have TV and Satellite, however horrible that sounds while on vacation.

But honestly, when you are in one room with your young kids without their wealth of toys about you, you need SOMETHING to keep them occupied. Often you don't want to spend every waking moment walking around town, kids are tiring!
I'd say definately a condo is the way to go if not doing an AI with younger children. This way you have a few more rooms at your disposal...you can put the kids to bed in the bedroom, and have the livingroom to yourselves. You almost always will also have TV/Cable/Satellite/Internet. And having a kitchen will also bring costs down. You can still have a maid come in for a small cost.
