We woke up chilly this morning...55 degrees in Playa! It's so unusual to have San Francisco weather that we decided to do a quick power walk around the municipal sports track (between Calles 30 and 34 and Avenidas 10 and 20) to warm up a bit before heading to the beach. Lots of regulars and tourists were on the track for their morning exercise.
After our walk, we headed down to Mamita's. The water level had obviously been rather high in the past several hours--up to about the 3rd row of palapas from the beach--as the sand was still wet. The wall of sand stretching halfway down the beach has been smoothed out now, making a nice slope. The water temperature was warmer than the air temperature (!) with gentle but giant waves. It was very refreshing. By the time we got home at 8:45, the temperature was a whopping 64 and the sun was shining brightly. It's supposed to hit a high of 80 today...another gorgeous day in paradise.
On our way back from the beach we ran into a few of our guests as well as Mrs. Bumper. Some days Playa is a very small town.
Hasta manana!
