Ugh! I hope it's not like that in July! Last year taking my camera onto a beach in Oregon on a windy day cost me around $1200 due to sand in my housing and in a lens. Needless to say, I'm a little gun-shy about taking my camera out on a beach in the wind.

EDIT: I did just buy this little Olympus Stylus tho....it's 7 MP. I bought it because it is waterproof up to 10ft for up to 3 hours, I wanted it for snorkeling and the beach, for sand, etc. when I don't want to haul the big one around. I tested it in the pool....I was sure nervous about dunking it under the water tho because it just looks like an ordinary camera, seems like it shouldn't be waterproof!!
