Just wanted to share a quick story that developed this morning...
Earlier today, we went to the
Cámara Hiperbática clinic to see a doctor. While waiting, we saw a woman there, waiting for her husband to be released. He spent the night after a 6 hour treatment in their hyperbaric chamber. Shortly before he was released, 2 representatives from their resort, one of the Palace Resorts, stopped in to speak with the woman. They mentioned that the dive operator - a shop in Akumal - had contacted them to let them know that one of their guests was sent for evaluation after a dive yesterday. The representatives stopped in to make sure that everything was alright and also to see if they could arrange transportation back to the resort when the patient was released. Such a small thing to do, but I give them a gold star for incredible customer service - way to go Palace Resorts!
Wish I had the name of the dive shop as well - they deserve congrats as well. Way to go, whoever you are.
For what it's worth, the patient was being released when we were leaving. He was a bit groggy, but it sounded like he was going to be just fine.
