Libby, I found an article from Oct. 2007 on Noticaribe saying that his extradition was to proceed:
Noticaribe: Chetumal: Notifican a Mario Villanueva que s? procede su extradici?n. But, I think you're right, he's still in prison somewhere in Mexico awaiting extradition. I don't really follow it that closely, but it's a fascinating case, one court will exonerate him and another will immediately charge him again. You know how these cases go, he could be extradited tomorrow or never.
