You probably already know this but CFE actually turns the power off in advance of the landing. For Dean, they took all the light poles down along the carretera between PdC and Cancun and reinforced all the trees with guidewires. Down here in PaaMul we were without power for 3 days after Dean but that was solely due to the need for the electric guy to personally check, palapa by palapa, all eclectrical things. Gawd only knows WHAT he was checking. But until he signed off, CFE would not restore power.
AFter Wilma, I think PaaMul was without power for a good week.
