Its true that with the amount of dogs hovering around the 70 mark things have gotten a bit dire here, our food bill alone is around the $1000 usd mark not including water and baby milk that we sometimes need for small puppies.
I am more than aware that it is now low season and (tho i have always hated to use the term business when referring to the shelter it has been pointed out that to make it successful we have to run it this way) we are being affected as any business here in Playa , added to that the problems for our friends in the USA with thier economy donations have gone down too, we have this week for the first time had to turn away some dogs (although we have taken in a couple of puppies) and it breaks my heart to have to do it but with funds so low we just can not feed any more.
I know this will turn around soon and we have so many wonderful friends tirelesly trying to raise funds for us and for them we are so very grateful, .
I would love some feedback to see if this is the kind of info you would like to know on top of the usual posts.
Thank you
Andy
Andy I think it's important for us to get the full picture. I wouldn't be checking in on this thread if I wasn't interested in the welfare of the shelter.

Of course it's not a bit surprising that incomings go down in low season because of less visitors, but the forum doesn't have a 'low season' and I think those of us concerned with you and Jen and the pups will give if we know you're skint.

Just don't hold back bad news because it's nicer to hear good. We want to hear it all - good bad and ugly ...

Besos,

Caroline
