We know it has been awhile since we've posted a beach report, but then again, it's been awhile since we've been to the beach.

But since we're heading for San Francisco this week, we thought we'd get our beach fix before we left. So this morning bright and early we headed down to Mamita's.
We've just passed the midpoint mark of the hurricane season, and so far we have been pretty lucky--not even a tropical storm. But a couple of near misses seems to have scared some people away. Even for low season, the beach was pretty deserted this morning, which is okay with us. We don't mind our own "secret beach." (And it's free!

)
The weather was warm, the sky was overcast, and there was a nice breeze blowing for a change. As always, the water was bathtub temperature, clear, and a beautiful turquoise in color. We'll try and keep up our beach reports when we get back from California. Here are some shots from today's trip:
A sight not often seen: every beach chair at Mamita's empty:
Don't you wish you were here?
Even when the beach is almost deserted, you can count on at least a couple of thong sightings.
Oh, and look at this! On the Mamita's road we saw this really cool billboard. We should check this place out!
