Of the cities PlayadelSoul mentioned, we've only had the pleasure of visiting one of them -- Zacatecas. We loved it! Having lived in flatlands all our lives, we loved being surrounded by hills there. We wrote about it in this blog entry. The part abut Zacatecas starts one paragraph above the photo. The only negative of the city is that they have (or had) these ancient city buses that blew out nasty, black emissions, and since Zacatecas is in a valley, there wasn't much place for the fumes to go.

A friend of ours just came back from San Miguel de Allende and is gushing about it! I've been hearing so much lately about how SMA has become so over-Americanized, I was afraid it had been ruined. I guess it's all relative though. Compared to Playa, SMA only has ONE Starbucks!

Guanajuato is a place that I would LOVE LOVE to visit! If you could swing it, I bet it'd be awesome to be there for Day of the Dead!!
