In November there were a lot of fish, you could just see them at the foot of the ladders. The best ones I saw were around the little island in the middle and then around to the left along the shelf of the shore. I saw one really really big fish, do not know what it was but it was white and a monster, did not expect is around all the little ones. My mother in law is 62 and she learned to snorkel for the 1st time in her life in Yal Ku, great for beginners. We first started to teach her to snorkel in Akumal Bay so she could see the turtles but it was a rough day and she always tells people we tried to drown her. She was in 4 ft of water and could stand the whole time but I think the waves crashing on her head scared her a little
