I went in November of 2006 with three girlfriends and had a great time.

Beautiful beaches, water and snorkeling right from the beach.

The lovely Shammy booked me too.........

Thanks for the heads up...I need to check out that site. I'm trying to find a nice place to be able to take the kids for their first trip...in a few years.

We stayed there in Feb 2006. Great beaches! I love the bar at the pier. We will probably take the kids here or Akumal Beach Resort.

Cool...sounds like a place the kids will definitely love and have fun at. It's going on the list!

Barcelo is one of our biggest clients. Hopefully, the English spoken there is better than average.

My post count surges ahead.

We stayed at the Barcelo Tropical for a week Christmas of '06....It was great for the kids. They loved it! The kids club is excellent & they have a really cool waterpark too! It is a great family resort!

No we havent been to the ABR. The beach there is a 12 on a scale of 1-10. Actually we will probably do a condo deal because we are a family of 6. If we do the AI route 2 rooms will probably be at Barcelo w/ a day trip to Lol ha.

Gotcha...

I'm thinking about perhaps renting a condo, too...because if we do venture down with the kids I think I would like to bring my parents along too. Decisions, decisions......
