If I had to spend the day at a resort it would be the Barcelo, they have the best beach and some nice snorkeling off their pier.

Hey Tappy, any idea how much it is there for the day?

The day pass covered covered beach towels, all drinks, breakfast (until 10am), and lunch. Technically, I suppose you could get dinner in before you leave, but only the snack bar is open. The snack bar has hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos & cheese.

Next week, when we have a few moments to breathe again, we'll write up a review of the IB Quetzal based on what the family has told us and our own observations.
So did you have enough time to breath? What did you and your family think of this resort? I am trying to narrow it down, and would love some more feedback! Thanks!

For $56 at the Quetzal/Tucan, that's a fair price for all you can eat and drink, and towels, and their non motorized water sports(they have to let you use the sailboats, and kayaks!) All inclusive for Xel Ha, or Xcarate? If you are not staying at an AI, and have not stayed at one, this is a great way to experience one! Too bad the beach at the Quetzal/Tucan has eroded so much......we stayed there in Feb 2005, and the hotels to the north were starting to lose beaches, ie the RIU properties, and it looked like it was heading south, as it has....

Oops, sorry about that! Could use more breathing. But I'll write something up today!

What resorts are you deciding between?

Cool! Thanks! well i figured since you and your family spent time at the iberostar quetzal, i wouldn't mind hearing about that one. I also heard great things about Barcelo. Anyone know how much Barcelo is for the day?

When my daughter was in Playa last week, we bought a day pass to Viva Maya and it was $45. each. From 9am to 5pm. This was the AI that she had been to 5 years ago and loved it. Personally, I wouldn't do this again, but then again, I'm not an AI kind of person. My daughter loves beach volleyball, so she played with the animation staff for about 3 hours. She had fun I just lounged and drank!

Really
When we stayed at the Royal Hideaway we often saw people try to walk up from the beach. They never even got on the property before security was turning them away.

Did you wander in from the street?

It always seemed like they knew our names within minutes of arriving.

Nice choice of names I might have guessed "pursediva" or Havanadaydreaming

I would love to know what the Royal charges per day (or even the IB* Grand).

The purse thing is newer. I've been working on the shoe collection for quite awhile now.

I looked into a day pass for Excellence Riviera Maya...I think thats the name of it...and I think they quoted me like $100 for half a day. They had certain hours that you could visit. If you wanted to stay passed 5pm you had to pay extra. It was really ridiculous...I thought. And its per person.

Anyone know the cost of a Day pass to Grand Sunset Princess or Grand Riviera Maya Princess? I know they are the same resort in one, but I was just wondering the cost to go there for a day. Im considering them for a trip next year and wouldnt mind visiting first. Also, anyone know the distance to these resort from Aventura Spa Palace?
