I paid 75 US for a one day pass to RIU Palace a couple of years ago for a buddy's wedding.

I have heard of others just sneaking in!

We visited some friends at one a couple of years ago and it was $35 per person for 1/2 a day. I thought it was a good deal.

I went to the Iberostar Quetzal on a day pass. If I remember correctly, it was about $80.00.

Yep...I called, I believe it was the Allegro, before we went to see what the price was. They quoted me, I agreed, then once I arrived asked for the lady who quoted me. I think we paid 80 or 90$ for the day for the both of us. I didn't care alot for the resort, be we had a great time, had a wonderful breakfast, and plenty to drink.

So these day passes are all day? What is the earliest you can get there, and the latest you can stay? Does this include breakfast, lunch, and dinner? All the free drinks you want?

Sounds like they all range in price. I might be interested in this for one day of course.

John's family is staying at the Iberostar Quetzal in Playacar this week. So, we decided to spend a day at the resort with them on our niece's birthday. The day pass was $56 USD and allows you to stay from 9am - 6pm. You can also do a night pass --- same price for 6pm - 3am.

The day pass covered covered beach towels, all drinks, breakfast (until 10am), and lunch. Technically, I suppose you could get dinner in before you leave, but only the snack bar is open. The snack bar has hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos & cheese.

Next week, when we have a few moments to breathe again, we'll write up a review of the IB Quetzal based on what the family has told us and our own observations.

Prior to the Real buying Club Bananas (boo!) we used to buy a day pass at CB for $35 US. It was marvelous.

We would go at 7 am for the buffet breakfast, spend the day at their wonderful beach club (now gone...where the Royal is now standing...boo!) all drinks included....do lunch, dinner and stay in the evening for the entertainment....everything included till the bar closed.

I understand most day passes do not include evening dinner....usually they end at 6 pm.

Rob and I have treated ourselves to a day at The RIU Place in Playacar. For $100 usd per person we had full access (including a nice sail on a catamaran)from 8 am straight through until midnight. This included dinner at one of the a la carte restaurants. Keep in mind, just like a guest of the hotel, you must get there early to get your choice of restaurant and seating time. It was well worth it for a day of vacation from our normal Playa life. Yes...I know that sounds ridiculous.

PS: The hotels will turn away requests for day passes when the hotel is at a certain capacity. I think the RIU is set at 90% but they will all vary. Royal Hideaway is the most expensive and the most difficult to get into.

I always used to sneak into the Royal Hideaway. Actually it is probably the easiest resort to sneak into to! Haven't done it since I moved here but did it 5 or 6 times over the past few years!

do they give a discounted kids rate usually at these AI's??

I'm thinking this may be a nice way to spend a day or two when we are down in July. May be fun to catch one of the shows, I know some of those hotels have fantastics shows at them. Would be nice to find out which ones are best, and which nights have the best shows.

Guess I need to start frequenting the "AI" forum....
