sandos playacar resort april 08

We are going to Sandos Playacar for the first time (actually first time in MX)
Anyboby that can tell me alittle about the resort from thier experiances would be great.
Do they have a open bar?
How is the new resort they are buildind comming along? I heard it may be done by April.
We will be there April 18 - 26th. Anyone else?
Is the beach still in good shape?

Last time I was through there - sneaking through from the beach - it was under going extreme renovation - remodeling plus a couple of large new buildings. There were no guests, so my take is that if you have reservations in April then the remodeling will be complete. The beach at Sandos is probably the best of any of the AIs in Playacar. It's wider than most. A big bonus is that there is an absolutely beautiful beach to the south of Sandos for about a half mile or more with no resorts or beach clubs. It's almost private...but look around before you shed your clothes.
