Default Where's My Resort?

Wondering where your resort is located? The travel agent told you it's in Playa del Carmen, but is it really?

Now you can locate your resort on our interactive Google satellite map. Just follow these simple steps.

1. Click this link to visit our interactive map.
2. On the left side of the screen, select the Search tab.
3. Enter the name of the resort in the dialog box.
4. Any properties matching your query will be displayed below.
5. Click on a property and Voila! You'll be shown its location on the map.
6. To see more properties, type in another search query or go back to the Browse tab.

Can't find your resort? The Riviera Maya is a big place, but we're adding more properties to our database all the time. Contact us with the name of the resort, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Tips:
  • You can use your mouse to scroll the map in any direction.
  • You can find any type of business this way, not just resorts. Hotels, banks, travel agents, and more.

Are you on Vista? We have just learned of a problem with the map working on Internet Explorer 7.0 on the Vista operating system. John is working on the problem at this very moment.

The map does work on Windows XP. And on Vista, it works on browsers other than Internet Explorer. So, if you're anxious to see the map, just download another browser such as Mozilla Firefox.

Sorry! We'll let you know as soon as the fix is ready.

Okay...
John and Libby, here's what I'm getting...

VISTA and Firefox (5 tabs)

I can see the Gran Porto Real and Royal PDC, the Grand Coco Bay, and the Real Playa Del Carmen. Nothing else is showing. From the Playacar Palace south to the Playacar resort area....I've got nada. I haven't tried scrolling to resorts south of PDC proper or north toward Puerto Morelos.

When I switch rendering engines for my tab, same thing...those 4 I listed show, but nothing else.

Also, I've tried using the Search tab and entering in several resorts and nothing happens. I hit "Go" and nothing.

I usually have to wait for Date Night for nothing to happen, to that degree...

Don't know if that is any use to you....

I very highly doubt that has EVER been a problem on Date Night.

Unfortunately, you hit our weak spot for map data. Libby wanted to take a drive to geocode more of the resorts before we left for the holidays. Never got around to it. I hope to spend some time in early January filling in some of the gaps. Hopefully our new GPS unit will arrive tomorrow so we can take it back with us in a few days.

We'd actually like to get website addresses, contact information, and a picture or two of the resorts when we add them as well. All part of our "most comprehensive" motto.

Looks like I'm gonna have a busy January...

John

Hi John,
If your GPS unit does not arrive, we have one at our Playa house. You are more than welcome to use it.

Maureen

Thanks for the offer. I might take you up on the offer. Can you send me a PM with info on where I might find it in your place?

We currently have the high end handheld model from 3 years ago. It's a piece of crap (Garmin, are you listening?). It takes about 2 minutes to find the satellites and the coordinates tend to be off by quite a bit. For instance, the Oxxo in Playacar was registered as being across the street from where it shows up on our map.

The new one we ordered has not yet been shipped, so it'll have to wait until we have visitors come at the end of January. When are you and Joe returning? Would you be able to bring it back for us if you are coming earlier than January 25th?

Thanks!

John

Default Gps

Hi John,

We plan to arrive back in Playa on Jan. 16th.....so we certainly can bring your package down with us. I'll pm with the location of the GPS in the Playa house. You're more than welcome to use it until you get your GPS. I think it's also a Garmin (not sure which model).

Safe travel tomorrow!
Maureen
