The Dirección General de Turismo (General Directorate of Tourism) invites all professional and amateur photographers to participate in the first annual municipal tourist photo contest - "Playa del Carmen, Heart of the Riviera Maya", which in its 2010 version will be held under the themes of Tourism and Biodiversity into two categories: Social Networks and Local Photos.

  • Redes Sociales: Podrán participar todas las personas de cualquier parte del mundo con cuenta activa en facebook y que sean fans del sitio Playa del Carmen, Corazón de la Riviera Maya | Facebook, mayores de edad. Tendrán que enviar un máximo de tres fotografías en las que se plasme la biodiversidad de Playa del Carmen al correo electrónico turismo.rivieramaya@gmail.com, las imágenes serán subidas a la carpeta del facebook denominada “El Turismo y la diversidad biológica”. La imagen más posteada con la leyenda me gusta será ganadora. El formato de la imagen enviada deberá ser en JPG y el tamaño no mayor a 1.5 MB.
  • Fotógrafos locales: En esta categoría participaran solo fotógrafos radicados con mínimo de un año de antigüedad en Playa del Carmen, mayores de edad. Deberán enviar su fotografía donde se plasme la biodiversidad natural del destino impresa y en formato digital en un cd dentro de un sobre cerrado, a las oficinas de la Dirección General de Turismo, ubicadas en avenida Juárez entre avenidas 25 y 30 de la colonia Centro, altos de Novedades Dietz.

Generales:

1. 1. El fallo del jurado dictaminador es inapelable.
2. 2. El plazo máximo para recibir las fotografías es el 20 de septiembre del año en curso a las 17 horas, en ambas categorías.
3. 3. Los participantes otorgan los derechos a la Dirección General de Turismo de usar las fotografías en futuras exposiciones fotográficas o elaboración de material promocional, otorgando siempre el crédito al autor.
4. 4. Cualquier situación no contemplada en esta convocatoria será resuelta por la Dirección General de Turismo.
5. 5. Los participantes en ambas categorías deberán adjuntar ya sea en el correo electrónico o en el sobre los siguientes datos: nombre completo del fotógrafo, fecha en que tomo la fotografía, lugar donde capto la imagen, marca y modelo de la cámara que uso, teléfono de contacto y correo electrónico.
6. 6. No podrá participar ningún trabajador activo del H. Ayuntamiento de Solidaridad.
7. 7. El ganador de cada categoría será dado a conocer el 27 de septiembre, en el marco de la inauguración de la Semana Internacional de Turismo.

Premiación:

Se premiará únicamente al primer lugar de cada categoría, de la siguiente manera:

Wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get Mexican plates on my car. It is a 93 Toyota. It has been in Mexico for at least 6 years. I have never taken it out and renewed sticker in Cancun! I want to sell it to a friend of mine and she wants Mexican plates.If not possible to get plates, is it legal for me to sell it and once pink slip in her name can she just keep going to Cancun to renew the sticker? I've been trying to connect to the INFINITUM modem (model # TG585v7) I received from TELMEX (which does work). Unfortunately, I have not been able to connect to the modem's config (using the default gateway IP address over HTTP). I've tried the following after doing a lot of research:

username: Telmex provided account

Password: Telmex provided password

Password: blank password (no password)

Password: serial # of router

Password: Wep Key of router (which the manual suggests)

Password: connect2th


No combination of the above usernames and passwords have worked. I have also tried to perform a hard reset on the ADSL router without success. So now I am to the point that I want to crush said router into tiny bits or buy a router that will work with TELMEX.

Q #1: Any idea how to hack into this stupid router so that I can change the config? Some password I haven't considered?

Q #2: If you are using a different router than the INFINITUM so I can put this Piece-O-crap back in it's box and use a real modem than I can manage myself.

Thanks to the work of “PDC KITEBOARDING”(Sandos Playacar Kiteboarding School), the AKQR(Associacion de Kitesurfing de Quintana Roo), ZOFEMAT(Zona Federal Marítimo Terrestre) and the support and help of few local Kiteboarders, we finally could organize and rule 4 different Kitesurfing Areas on 4 different beaches in Playa del Carmen with a designated “Kiteboarding Launching Zone” where EXPERIENCED and CERTIFIED riders will be able to Launch and Land there kites in total respect to other “beach goes” and swimmers!
For beginners and non certified riders, the School of PDC Kiteboarding offers IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) certification courses given by experienced and IKO certified Instructors at their beach location: The Sandos Playacar Resort beach. (ex Gala Resort beach).

The school is the only Certified and Authorized center in Playa del Carmen.





Those 4 Kiteboarding Zone are the following:
*Sandos Playacar Resort Beach/PDC Kiteboarding School
*Playacar Phase 1 (Next to Xaman Ha condos)
*Coco Beach, about 300m north of the Grand Coco Beach Resort
*Xcalacoco
At each of those Kite Zone will be very soon installed by ZOFEMAT(in coordination with PDC Kiteboarding and the AKQR) a sign and map showing the exact “Designated Kite Area” and special rules for Kiteboarders and “beach users”.

The goal of this action is to allow the practice of this amazing sport while respecting the other water activities and other beach users!
It is very important that Kiteboarders respect those rules to be able to keep practicing our sport in the future in our hometown!!!
