Default Trouble loading pages on ITR?

Everyone, or just me? Every time I reply to a thread, or click on any threads?

Do I need to change the.....something on my puter, or is it everyone else?

I was trying to think what it might be. If no one else seems to be having the prob, I was thinking it might be our antivirus progs slowing it down. I run Kaspersky AV, sometimes it slows things up. I know it's not my connection... Fiber Optic is pretty speedy

If you are experiencing delays loading pages or with other actions on this website, please pm me with as much information as you can. Does it happen when ... starting a new thread? ... replying to a thread? ... loading a thread with lots of pictures? ... clicking New Posts? ... doing a search? when you do anything at all? Do you get an error message?

Answers to these questions will help me determine the cause of the problem.

A couple of things that can cause delays:

Clicking on New Posts in rapid succession. We require a 5 second wait time before reloading New Posts. This is actually very liberal as many forums require up to 60 seconds. This restriction is put in place to prevent strain on the database.

Creating new posts in rapid succession. We require a 30 second wait time before creating a new post. This is to prevent spammers from flooding the forum with a ton of posts.

These restrictions should not affect the average user. If you use the forum for chatting with very short posts, you may be affected. You are welcome to continue using the forum in this manner. However, please be aware that forum software does not operate well as a chat room, so it's not always ideal for that type of activity.

I realize there may be other issues causing delays, so please do report delays and provide me with as much information as you can. Thank you.

The biggest delay I see, and most noticable, is sometimes when just coming into the site. I get no error message, it loads....just takes forever. Like I mentioned, might be my AV or something.

There is one more type of activity that can cause a delay. We require a 60 second wait time between sending private messages. This is to prevent spammers from flooding your inboxes with spam.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Just to clarify, does this delay occur when you are coming into the home page of the website (intheroo.com) or the forums home page (intheroo.com/playa-del-carmen-forums)?

Unfortunately, there are so many different factors that can cause a web page to load slowly. If anyone else is experiencing the same problem, please let us know. Thank you.

It's when I'm coming into the forums Lib. In fact...I've tried the direct forum link at times...no luck, then tried ITR.com and have no prob. I hit the forum link from there, and ....nada. This happens not that often, maybe once a week or so. Maybe it's a forum maintanance period??
