I like that your pages seem to hold a lot more posts than other forums that I frequent. Scrolling is better than page-hopping, and gives the conversations a lot more continuity.

Yes, under User CP and Edit Options in forums which utilize this format, you can select and save 20, 30 or 40 posts per page as an option.

What's the general consensus on default page length for newbies? 10, 15, 20, 40?

I think 15 or 20 would be good. If it's 10 right now, that's the default with the software.

I'm just guessing but if threads have a great deal of photo inserts, a page with 20, 30 or more posts...EACH with a large amount of inserted picture data, might take a very long time to load? Thereby decreasing that page's "customer satisfaction"... ??

Absolutely!! This has always been an annoyance for me and I have a very respectable download speed (most of the time).

I set mine to 30 when I joined. It's a tradeoff between connection speed and impatience factor.

Most users today probably have a broadband connection, I think, so a default of 20 with option to double it should keep everyone happy.
