First it was Jaime, Marshall, Dave and Greco on 5th....
Then Ron & Sharky around the corner, now what? It will be interesting to see how the locals react ... |

Just wondering how the new owners will be perceived is all...

I think Cosmo might be referring to the fact that the contract for the sale of the Beer Bucket was signed today. The grand opening of Big Al & Redneck Steve's Beer Bucket is May 23rd.

We're going through this at our local bar. New owners. Lots of changes. Some over due, some I'm not to sure about. The "Beer Bucket" was one of those type of bars that had a certain "feel" to it. Hopefully they can keep it ,only with cleaner bathrooms.

I Guess everyone forgot that after it was Jaime, Greco, Marshall and Dave, Owning the Beer Bucket James Higham and Jaime Owned the Beer Bucket on 5th on the second floor of Mr. Pinas Bldg. James Highams, Wife and kids lived there for a year helping get the beer bucket up and going. The story is an interesting one on what happend to the owners and the truth about the beer bucket.

Jaime moved from Playa to Mahahual about a year ago. I see him pop up in Playa from time to time but never really get to spend much time just chatting with him. Libby and I have it on our "things to do" list to make it back down to Mahahual to hang out with him, but we haven't made as much progress on that list in quite some time now.
Your stories of the early Beer Bucket are quite amusing. I'm sure that place has lots of great history - someone should write a book.

alot of changes since the new owners took over a little over a year ago. Some good-some not so good. But something that hasnt changed is good ole Rocky. You can still find Rocky everyday in his same spot. Oh unless the music gets too loud-then he moves across the street to the LaRana. Or if some of the other local boys piss him off with too many racist remarks-then you can find upstairs at the Bucket and during football season. If the Bucket has no games on-then Rocky finds a bar that does have games. |

Oh I am sure there are other reasons! These two are either ignored or told to shut up. Beer Bucket not real popular right now with Duke gone again and girls quitting-again.

It has been very slow there - but I have to say that they are not alone. |
