And here I thought it was some sort of non-compete clause between the two sites. PI is having the same problem with somebody's link over to here!

Wow.... I just started poking around "over here" today and stumbled upon this thread.

Gotta say it was a bit of an eye-opener. And kinda backed up something I heard during my Playa vacay last week about the "us vs. them" attitudes.

I never got into the whole "issue" which caused a mass exodus from "that other site" to this one and fully expected (once I found the time) to be active here and "there".

I'm wondering if it's safe for me. I mean.... am I considered one to be one of "the others" in the Roo'ers eyes?? I don't have a beef with anyone, either here nor there. And I'd certainly prefer to keep it that way. Gotta say, I just don't need the BS drama, ya know?? I'm kinda getting the impression that the "view of the Roo" is that it's "our way or the highway" (i.e. those who regularly post on both Forums will not be welcome "In the Roo".)

That issue has been discussed numerous times to great length. It hasn't had a happy ending yet.

As owners, we invite everyone with an interest in Playa del Carmen and Quintana Roo to join us. I'm glad you have, even if it's only part time.

there are plenty here that post on many boards......no issue that I know of......but I do know of a board where many have been shown "the highway" but have not seen that happen here

Hi Karen. Poking around is good. There are lots of excellent threads to poke around over here..politics (please ignore Playadelsoul, he really doesn't mean all that "I love Bush" stuff), music threads ( yes people here listen to other things than Dylan despite what Cosmo says),Local stuff (lots of locals, semi locals, and just plain visitors hanging here) and other fun stuff (poke around any thread by Nick and Nora). And if you "never got into the whole issue" over at PI there's no need to get into it over here.

Oh, and as for other peoples' views and warnings that you may have heard while on vacation...we suggest you hang out here for a while and make your own mind up about that. We're pretty sure you're gonna find some people and discussions you like.

I never had the time nor inclination to find out why/how so many pulled out of P.Info, so I'd kinda rather not get into the whole thing.

I'd rather just enjoy posting here and posting there and just getting along with everyone. I've missed some of you, and I'd like to maybe catch up here and there, given the opportunity.

Besides... John and Libby have some groovy smilies that P.Info doesn't have!!
