Default ¿Qué paso?

¡Hola adictos de playa!

Just wanted to say hey, and throw a little support to this site...

Never been much of a participant in the day to day banter on the other site, but have always enjoyed checking it out from time to time to see what's going on. I hate the term lurker (sounds like the freak that looks into windows at night in a neighborhood) but then again maybe that's what it is, call a spade a spade huh?. I just look at it like a reality TV show with real characters, and not scripted reality BS. Believe me, I don't think some of the arguments and butt-kissing and whatever else I've read could be written much better by the striking guild writers. Classic stuff with classic characters.

Don't get the wrong idea though, I stumbled into this probably the same way many others did, just researching QR even after 20 years of traveling down there. It was really great to find so many others who were so passionate about one of the best places on the planet. It has also served as a phenomenal source of information on what is going on in the area.

Anyhow, good to see there is another channel to turn to now!!!

Sorry if I'm rambling like Rissask (no offense Riz, you're my favorite character on the show)

Adios amigos....

That's quite a bold way to come out of lurkerdom.
You know, you ARE right. There's gotta be a better term.

Peruser?

Hmmmmm.......

Hey TXN,

Lurker or puruser.......your post was quite eloquent! Wow going to Playa for twenty years....the growth & changes must be mind blowing. We've been coming to Palya for 10 years & now live here about 1/2 of the year. For me it's the people we meet that make it a special place. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for our long stay!

Good to hear from you TXN!

MM

Thanks MM,

Never been called eloquent before so I have to say I really appreciate that! I'm blown away every time I go down there how much it changes, we only go once or twice a year but each time the changes don't cease to amaze me. I remember in the early-90's and Cancun was exploding with growth and I had never seen so much construction going on at one time in one place. But I gotta say, just the last few years in PDC has been something else. Travel safe tomorrow!

TXN - thanks for joining us!

Got any good pics of Playa from 20 years ago? I always like to see the old school photos of Playa.

I walked down the north part of 5th today (from Calle 38 to Calle 16) and was amazed at the number of people "brave" enough to wander north past the "dip" in the road (about calle 14 where Mandarina's is located). I've also noticed that the city has put in pedestrian benches between 16th and 26th now. I guess it's a place for the lurkers to hang out.

This place keeps growing and it's amazing to be a part of it.
