ummm... I have to say that this does feel kinda funny. Like that parallel universe recently referred to. I am a fairly frequent visitor to Playa and beyond, and an infrequent poster on variouis forums. Mostly a lurker, I am. But I do feel a certain kinship to many here, strange as that may be. So, here I am!

Hi Gaye, and welcome to the forum. If you have any questions don't be shy about throwing them out there, everyone's very helpful here and there are a lot of Playa expats here who have a ton of first-hand knowledge about the area. And some of us talk about other things besides Playa, too.

I think I actually remember that (from another life...)
![]() I go through Plainfield on my way to Indy. It is really growing. There is a huge new outdoor mall there now and lots of shopping. The new airport is very near there. |

It's a nice area~!
Loved my time there, but it was a LONG time ago. Let's see...1996-97 was the last time I was there I think... And we had friends whose homes just outside Plainfield were sold to the people/County/whatever developing Weir-Cook...Oops....Indianapolis International as it was spreading... My Dad's old top floor office is where the RCA Dome was built. Been way too long...I'd like to see the Soldiers and Sailors Monument Circle area...take a trip around the track again...zoom around Plainfield and up and down Old State Road 267... Doesn't seem like that long ago I was watching Phil Cox sing the National Anthem before going out and leading Connersville to the State title (When it was just a single class state-wide tourney)

I think just like Ohio, you're going to have parts that are doing crappy, and other parts that are doing okay.
I would think Bloomington would be holding its own, because of the University there. But what do I know.

Oh yeah.... economy bad. Well. I don't think things are really any worse here than anywhere else. Possibly in northern Indiana where there is more industry. My husband runs a company in Brazil, Indiana, and he did have to lay off a few workers, but that was seasonal in part, although their work is slower this year than in the past. I think everybody, eveywhere is just trying to hold on and hope that things recover. I do feel a little sheltered here where we live.
Now the weather, that's another story... ![]() ![]() ![]()
