Default Hi everyone!

Greetings from sunny (but cold) Central Oregon! Just wanna say I love this site, everyone seems so friendly and willing to share their great experiences. The hubby and I are leaving in 9 days for Playa and are sooo excited! It will be our 2nd trip to the area. Last year we spent most of our time down in Soliman Bay and Tulum so are stoked that we will be in town the entire 10 days this year! All your restaurant recommendations will be put to good use!

Hey sunshngrl, glad you joined us here In The Roo!

One thing that has always amazed me about Playa is that people who love it here want everyone else to know about it. I've never known any other place with such fanatics.

I hope you find some useful information here to make your trip planning easier.

If you don't mind me asking, are you staying in town or at a resort?

Thanks Sharon for the tip, I'm definitely a newbie as far as forums go so appreciate any helpful hints. We absolutely loved the short time we were in Playa last year and knew we would be returning as soon as we could.

To answer John's question, we are staying in town, not a resort. We prefer the smaller more personal hotels and the idea of being able to walk everywhere, especially to all the restaurants! Can't wait to try the mojitos that everyone is raving about! Thanks for the warm welcome.

Thats what we prefer as well and why we stay in the city and not out at a resort.

Oh, and Welcome to the board!!!

Hi kingsfan! We are staying at The Blue Pearl, it's a block from the beach we're told. Last year we stayed in a house and liked having the space (especially when my husband came down with the crud for 3 days) We will probably try another hotel next time. The Playa Palms does look pretty nice. Was it noisy? We had some family stay there a few years back when it was part of the Blue Parrot and ended up moving because of the noise. It may have changed a lot since then. I agree with you on the AI, it's just not for us. When in March are you going to Playa?
