Thumbs up Hello from St. Pete FL

Hi,

My name is Beatrice. My husband, Jeff, and I had the pleasure of meeting John & Libby over lunch at La Pesca about a year ago when ITR was still fairly new.

I've been following discussion of PDC since before my July 2006 trip, and I feel like I know any number of the regular posters here as a result. I never posted much over there - I never really felt like I fit in.

My first trip to PDC was in 1995; I went with a few friends. It actually wasn't a trip to PDC, but through PDC on the way to Cozumel. I remember looking back at PDC from the ferry thinking "if I ever go back to Mexico, I want to go to that quiet little place!"

It took me eleven years to return. I was there for two weeks at the end of July and first week of August 2006 (w/o AC, no less!). I came back with my husband for almost two weeks last year at this time. We returned for a three week whirlwind trip around the Yucatan Peninsula last July.

Unfortunately, we have no travel plans at the moment. I may be making a job change, so I can't make any plans for the summer. It's SO depressing not to know when I'll be going back!

Congrats, John and Libby on the growth of ITR.

Beatrice

It sounds like you will fit in quite perfectly here at ITR.
Looking forward to getting to know you.
Keep your fingers crossed for a return trip to Playa, real soon!

That is familiar. My husband and I started going to Cozumel 16 years ago. We took the ferry over to Playa Del Carmen for the day. I remember the dirt roads well. Knew that Playa would get bigger and it has. I'll be in Playa tmmrw!!! Whoo hoo, so excited to be back!

Welcome to In The Roo!

How are you chow hounds doing? Thanks again for your gift of a salt and pepper grinders... we've since drained them and had to import more from the States.

Let us know when you finally make plans to head back. There are a good number of new restaurants in town that you may be interested in trying.
