Default Help! We may need a new apartment soon!

We are having a contract dispute with our landlord for a new lease. We are exploring our options for a new place.

Requirements
Cablemas / Telmex
Accepts cats (or don't ask, don't tell)
2 bedrooms

We are flexible with location, although we prefer something North of Constituyentes on the East side of the carretera.

Any leads on a place would be greatly appreciated.

Ya really need to think about buying if you are going to stay. I heard they had cheap houses near Chemuyil. Why make a house payment for somebody else?

Thanks for the advice, Sunbaby. But that just is not a possibility for us right now. As appealing as the Chemuyil prices are, it is critical for us to be in an area that has fast and dependable internet service available. Oh wait, who am I kidding!

Well, at least we can't move into an area where the internet service is worse than what we already have! We can't even do Playacar Phase II. That is still the Wild Wild West as far as Telmex and Cablemas are concerned!

DUH>...Internet... totally forgot about that..like that's not important for you two. Brain fart!

It's probably not a good time to buy there anyways, prices way too high. Wait it out, in a few years, there should be lots of property for sale, Meaning, with so much contruction going on...they will flood the market eventually and prices will drop.

Good luck on Apt shopping.

Chemuyil sold out about a month ago. 200 homes in five months...not bad.

I will put a bug in Kristin's ear and see if she can think of anything. I have a few landlords in my files. I'll call around and see. This is a good time of year to be looking for long term.

There are lots of for rent signs in Las Margaritas, Villas del Carmen Las Brujas etc... all of them close to me The house right next to mine has been empty for a long time but the new owner wants to remodel it before he rents it or uses it.
Wow it would be great to have you as neighbors

Thanks Michele & Claudia!! John went out looking for 'For Rent' signs and was a bit discouraged by how few he found. I'm going to start calling phone numbers soon.

Claudia, it would be so great to be neighbors with you! And we love your neighborhood. How quickly can this guy remodel?

In the area between Constituyentes and 38th, and 10th and 30th, I saw a total of 11 for rent signs, 3 of which are in Tohoku. Of the 11, 3 of them appear to be geared towards vacation rentals. Yes, it's low season... but where are the available apartments? Even Margaritas I appears fully occupied (1 vacation rental sign only) - I've never seen that in our tenure here.

Andale has plenty of listings for 2 bedroom places, but you'd never guess it from walking around and looking.

Why not just sneak into an all inclusive, cop a wrist band, and eat for free and sleep on the loungers by the pool at night?? Oh yeah, you can't save a space by the pool that early!!

Did you look at Gaviotas 2? Some of my neighbors are always renting or looking for long term renters.

I believe I found 2 "for rent" signs outside Gaviotas 2... we plan to start calling places tomorrow. Thanks!

John,

I'm thinking of two people in particular who may be looking to rent long term. How long of long term are you looking for and when do you need to move in? I'll email them today for you if you can let me know some specifics. The units there are 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath some have laundry.

Thanks, Sue! That sounds great. We're looking for a 12 month rental. If we like the place, we'd probably stay for a few years. We do want to buy eventually though.
