Talked to (not Martha) who said that the horario is not the entire class time - depending on your level, you will be placed in a slot somewhere in there. Also, no kids; adults only. Probably for the best. So I'm waiting to hear back from Sra. Marta. Oh, and I'm not sure anyone there speaks English (they should though, no?) as the entire conversation was conducted in Spanish (but I'm used to that).

Yeah, I had the same experience, talked only in Spanish. But I didn't try speaking English so maybe they will speak English if necessary. Waiting for a call back from Marta.

I just took these classes. Lucia and Paloma from the Beer Bucket were two of the student teachers. Marta speaks English, but the lady who called me to confirm when the classes started only spoke a very limited amount. The classes are conducted in Spanish but were fairly eary to follow along. It was interesting to be taught by six teachers at once... Actually they took turns. I thought it was a great way to pratice your Spanish, but you have to remember that the classes are about the "teachers" learning to teach, so you may need to have some patience with them!

We called Marta again today - again no return call. And at this point it appears that we're too late to take a placement test for the free classes.

I have to say that I'm not too impressed at this point.

Marta called me yesterday to ask if I was going to do the next class. I'm not because they are starting at the beginning again and I've already done that part. I have a different number for her if you want to try and contact her directly, I can pm it to you if you'd like. She seemed like she wanted more people to attend classes.

Thanks to Judy, I finally talked to Marta, and we'll be starting the classes next week. The class does go for a full hour and a half, as Claudia stated, and the class they're starting will be level 2, which is just a little bit above beginner. She told me to come a few minutes early & test to see when I might be able to integrate into the class (since I have studied some Spanish before), but Tony will be starting on the 21st. So, if any of you haven't been able to reach Marta, let me know & I'll send you her phone number.

Thanks again, Judy.

We're in too! We'll be starting later as well when the classes get a bit more advanced. Apparently, I really impressed Marta with my one sentence in Spanish.
