Oh, Michelle! If there is any school that could try my dedication to homeschooling, this would be the one. I have always leaned towards Waldorf methods (except their Kindy art practices) and very seriously was falling head over heels in love with the school until I realized the girls, just the girls, on a monthly basis would be a minimum of $8000 a month. EEEEK!

But wow, what a school!

Birdie will be starting their this year and, if all goes well, Cole will follow in a year. Ak Lu'um is the most expensive of the private school options but just marginally. They are all pretty pricey but considering our monthly tuition nut in the US would have been about $30,000 this year, it's a relief for us.

I am excited about the open house. We are currently living in their old home in the campestre and I have not yet seen the jungle campus. I have known Siobhan for four years and she is absolutely the most passionate academic I have ever met. Even if the school was not non-profit, I would feel confident sending my tuition dollars her way. If you can, stop by on Monday!

I didn't mean to imply their tuition wouldn't be worth the cost - I'm incredibly intrigued and salivating at the thought of the school, but it is simply WAY out of financial league. I'm very jealous of Birdie. I wish *I* could attend a Waldorf school.

Yes, as you well know, if your child attends...then the whole family attends. I like that. So different from traditional schools here where there is no direct family involvement. I did the whole "car line up/bullhorn routine" for a year and a half. Hated it!!

Very nice....you are in the "spelling club" with a very few people that can ever spell Vaughan's name correctly!

It was great to see you guys too. Birdie was so sweet with Avery last year when we were visiting Ak Luum...when did she get do big?! Sorry Rob & Connor couldn't make it. Hopefully we can all catch up at the next event.
