I wonder if the cool temps are because of the cold front that was going through Mexico City yesterday.

We left Huatulco yesterday around 3 pm, and it was really windy, but still REALLY hot (about 33 Celsius/93 F).....the owner/manager at our hotel said the cold front had temps in Mexico City dipping below freezing, but they were just getting the wind in Oaxaca, and not the cold (I don't think it EVER gets below about 75F there! Man, it's HOT.)

It's weird. Back in San Francisco folks would consider this a balmy day. Secretaries would line the business plaza to get some sort of tan and people would put the tops down on their convertables. But here it's a different story.

Last night we went to La Pesca for some hot shrimp casserole. Cheri actually wore a jacket. And before we went to bed, we dug out a comforter that hasn't seen the light of day in two and a half years!

If you are from out of town and planning on being here soon, don't worry. These cold spells never last. But we had to comment on this one 'cause it's really freaking cold! (Wait a sec'. Did we just see a snowflake?)
I remember last February when we went to La Pesca that a cold front moved in and it was cold and windy. We were sitting in the back right where the kitchen and main palapa split and the wind blowing down on our table was freezing! At least in Playa terms!. Of course, afterwards I was invited to go with you to the lovely SarahB's apartment for a drink. Funny, I wasn't so cold any more!

After having the infamous toilet picture taken with Shirlee, I eventually went back to my screened in room at Posada Freud and passed out WITHOUT first noticing the stack of blankets across the room.

A'ndrea came by at 6am the next morning to wake me up to work out ()and found me bleary, hungover, begging for advil and tinged blue.

Default Brrrr...day 3

We can hardly whine as we read about all you poor folks up north in snow country, but we woke up to the 3rd chilly cold Playa day in a row! I'm pretty sure that's a record since we've lived here. According to Accuweather (Playa del Carmen Weather) it's 68 degrees out right now but feels 64. Mickey Mouse sweatshirt...day three.

The good news is that it is supposed to hit 79 today (which means some sun, hopefully) and should be getting warmer every day over the next few days. So if you're here in Playa on vacation, don't fret!

Ha you guys are too funny....I woke up to 18 degrees...so no more whining about the 60's okay......and a sweatshirt in 60 degree weather ..hell we pull out the shorts and t-shirts when it hits 60 here...

So that's why you're going to Jamaica...going where it's warm... Have a good trip.
