Yes, unfortunately, it's only held once a year. I found myself looking at some of pictures thinking: "Why the heck didn't I buy that?". Now I gotta figure out where in Playa they sell this stuff.

This Bazar is only held once a year, unfortunately. However, there is always some charity in town that can put your donations to good use. Claudiadeplaya has, from time to time, sold donated goods at flea markets to raise money for charity. Claudia, Are you currently taking donations for this?

Also, Claudiadeplaya and Aussieplaya are working on a marketplace website (kind of a Playa ebay) where a portion of proceeds will go to the Playa charity of the seller's choice. Claudia and Gary, Can you please provide more info on this?

The bags are truly a steal here, due to Melissa's connections! They were featured in Oprah's magazine & are the rage in New York....not to mention the good for the environment factor!

The last 3 years of this flea market, at the end people would donate what they did not want to take home to the red cross and then it would be sold at the red cross parking lot, every Saturday.
The Red Cross is not having a Bazar now, after the flood in Tabasco we decided, in the Playa delegation that all donations would be given away to communities in need. We are still leaving the option open for people to come and sell their stuff at the parking lot and donate parts of the proceeds to the red cross.
This, however, might just take another few months to be relaunched, since the main problem we have is storage.
Gary and I are starting an online fleamarket for the donated items to be sold, the payments are made straight to the charities and we just donate our time uploading and managing the site, we will be selling stuff there where we will be making a living hopefully, (libby understands)
If someone within the Playa area wants to sell something they will be able to do it through the online flea market and then donate part of their earnings to the charity of their choice on a percentage of their choice directly paid to the paypal account. So far we are hoping to focus on the pet shelter, and the special ed school, but all other charities can join like the fire department, Angel Notion, Moce, Red Cross, Muuch chim baal, sacab mucuy, From the Heart in Mahahual etc. and give them a chance to upload the donated items directly into the site.
