Has it been a week already? Let's see if I can make it up to you. Last time I gave you just a little taste of 5th Avenue from Calle 4 north to Calle 8. Today, we'll pick up at Calle 8 and head north to Constituyentes Avenue. La Parilla is offering 44 different kebab and fajita dishes during their Brochettes (kebabs) & Fajitas Festival May 10-25. ![]() One of three Starbucks in Playa del Carmen. This one is at 5th & Calle 10. ![]() Souvenir shop with Ula Gula restaurant up above. ![]() Work is nearing completion at the new and improved Mojo Zone Bar. Co-owner, Bad Brad, will be performing live here. ![]() There are so many little hotels in Playa del Carmen. The Hotel Copa Cabana looks so cute from the outside. Between Calle 10 & 12. ![]() Kin Mayab is a great place to get an authentic Guayabera shirt or embroidered dress. Located across from the Tequila Barrel. There is a another location on Calle Corazon between 5th & 10th Avenue. ![]() The very popular Di Vino restaurant has an Italian menu and extensive wine list. ![]() Media Luna restaurant moved upstairs and a souvenir shop is now in the old restaurant area. ![]() For those chilly Playa nights. ![]() ![]() One of my fave shops in Playa. Caravan carries shell & beaded jewelry from $7-12, pretty scarves and unique purses among other things. Everything's made in Indonesia, NOT in Mexico though. On 5th & Calle Corazon. ![]() |

![]() ![]() The ultra-fancy Ultrafemme (fragrances & cosmetics) and Ultrajewels (jewelry & watches) stores. ![]() Moongate Hotel, a moderate choice on 5th Avenue & Calle 14 Bis. ![]() I just love these colorful handbags. ![]() Get your leathers at Veari. ![]() Plenty of crocs available in Playa del Carmen. Between Calle 16 & Constituyentes. ![]() This little nook used to house an ATM machine. Now it's a car rental kiosk! Real estate is valuable on 5th Avenue! ![]() That's all for today. More of 5th Avenue to come soon.

We also stayed at the Moongate once a few years back, and felt it was a good value at a great location. And thanks, I'm feeling much better. Finally, went to doctor and got some much needed meds. Turns out that some salmonella had gotten the better of me, plus I'm still battling a bout with the flu. Fun stuff.
