Default Massage therapy or chiropractor?

Any recommendations for either or both in Playa? I have back problems (herniated L-5) and I would like to get some therapy while I'm in Playa in June.

My wife's a physical therapist. A couple of plan tickets from Chicago. And she will treat your back

Default chiropracter

I can recommend Dr. Roy Hansen, very good chiropracter, graduated in Palmenr University with a very very good reputation in Playa and Cancun.

He is currently working at the Gym in calle primera Norte between 16 and constituyentes

There are lots of massage therapists, I have heard very good comments from clients of Itza Spa and read good reviews for Veronica´s massage.
I have only had massages from Daniel, the Xaman healer in Maya Spa in Tulum and although I am not a massage person it was great and I would go back all the way to Tulum for another one if I could.

Please let us know of your experience afterwards!

Big difference between massage (muscle) and chiropractic (bone). I like to go to the chiropractor, and follow up with a massage.

I saw Dr. Roy, at the GYM, while we were there in March. I will definately go back for an adjustment. He charges $55, and spent 40 minutes with me. He adjusts everything from top to bottom. I have back problems, as well, and you should only go to someone who has experience, which Dr. Roy has.

For massage, I go to Veronica's, and have never had anything but a positive experience. And the price is right, at $33 USD for an hour massage.

I've heard wonderful things about Daniel! Claudia, do you know how to find Daniel? Is there a phone number we can call to make an appointment?

I had a terrific massage with Barbara. I really need to go back. She has a studio in north Playa, but will also come to your home or hotel.

I second the recommendation of Barbara. We offer here services at the hotel (she massages in the room or on the garen deck in front of the waterfall!) and I get massages from her myself. Not long ago I had lower back problems and could barely walk. barbara gave me a massage combined with hot rock heat therapy...I was like a new person by the time she finished.

Thanks to all for the great input! It's quite possible that I may be recovering from back surgery when I roll into Q.R. this year, so I'm sure I'm going to need some therapy. I will definitely report on my experiences here.

we went to Veroicas on our last trip..It was wonderful!!!

Chiroprators in the area I know nothing about but since I hold so much stress in my back sometimes what causes my problems is the muscles tightening so bad the they knock my back out of place and can make it difficult to get make...they usually have to do pressure point massage on me before hand just to losen up my muscles enough to do the adjustments.

I do know that we were so relaxed after our massage it was difficult to walk the block and a half back to our room.

What a great question about chiropractic services. I had never thought about it.

I can only say that I had a terrific massage at Veronica's. I twisted my ankle on the first full day in Playa. I mentioned this to the masseuse in a stellar combination of sign language and Spanglish.

We had just returned to Playa from 24 hours of lots of walking in Valladolid and Chitzen Itza. My ankle was giving out. After some special attention and mystery salve it was good to go. Very theraputic!

Veronica's Massage is on 5th Avenue between Constituyentes and Calle 20. It's just north of Aca Los Tacos, upstairs next to Karma Bagels. Sorry, I don't have Veronica's on the map yet. Hopefully, by tonight.

Just stay away from that nut job next door to Bad Boyz..just north of it. He will do more damage than good. I don't remember what he called it but it was very painful...for days. I wouldn't call it a massage, but torture.

And, there is another location even further north, not too far from the road to Mamitas. I like that location, as it always seems to be quieter.

I'm not sure if that one is still open. I believe it was on 1st Avenue near Calle 26. I walk by there pretty often, and I haven't noticed it in quite some time. I'll make sure to look out for it the next time.

They also used to have another location on 5th Avenue between Calle 10 & 12 or so. That one has definitely closed.

Yes, that is where it is/was, 1st Ave. near Calle 26. Oh, I hope it isn't closed, I really liked that location. We could always drive there, find parking, and get in and out. When we were in Playa in March, the one on 5th between 10 & 12 was no longer Veronica's, but was Heavenly Hands, or something like that.
