Hey all. We'll be arriving on Sunday, staying at the Valentin and plan on heading to Playa del Carmen on Monday. Any particular spots recommended??

Welcome to the Roo! I think you will find that Cinco de Mayo is generally an American "Mexican" holiday, and not celebrated in Mexico.

However, all the same great things you might find at home that day are in Playa everyday! Great tequila, Mariachis, tequila, delicious food, tequila, cervesa, tequila, well you get the picture I hope.

Be sure to stop by the Luna Blue Bar on 26th street between 5th and 10th Avenue in the North part of town for a Margarita you won't soon forget!

Actually, today is a holiday. Labor Day. Monday is only a holiday if you work for the government. Its just another day, in these parts.
