St Pete Times columnist Bill Maxwell talked about his first real vacation in today's edition of the St Petersburg Times. I'm SO jealous. I don't know when I'll get back. Having no travel plans is so depressing.

How can you possibley go to Playa and sleep that much,but sounds like he got what he wanted from his vacation and that's all that matters.

Yeah, this guy does like to sleep a lot on vacation. Who goes to bed immediately upon arriving at their hotel in the middle of the afternoon? Maybe he should cut back on the Ambien? And the thing about dancing to the music of mariachi bands? The only place I have seen live mariachi is at La Parrilla, and not much dancing goes on there. Oh well, thanks for the article, it was a good read.

He should travel with Matt theyd have a great time sleeping the entire vacation!

Matt always sleeps in and Im always up early..he cant understand why I dont sleep later since its the only real chance I get to....but I dont want to miss out on my vacation!!!!

If I didn't have vacation to look forward to, I don't know what I'd find redeaming in life. Yup - I'd send up the white flag and throw in the towel. I'd be one sad banana.

AMEN! Sure gets old flying through Ft. LaDiDah! Miami is WAAY worse, tho.

Several years ago, Spirit announced that they would be starting up direct flights from Tampa to Cancun. Those plans got cancelled when the hurricance (forget which one) hit Cancun.

One can only hope that Spirit, or some other low cost airline, decides to do direct flights at some point.
