Andy, That's terrific news! You are so close to meeting your goal!
Ever since Andy told us of his idea to have sponsored kennels, we have been hoping to be able to sponsor one. The Peanut Pet Shelter is near and dear to my heart! I am reminded of the great need for Andy & Jen's work on an almost daily basis here, confronted with homeless dogs and cats, often with limps, serious mange, and sad faces. ![]() Unfortunately, John and I seem to have neither time nor money at this moment to help the shelter as much as we'd like to. We do hope to be able to share the fruits of our current labor with the shelter in the future. In the meantime, we are very happy to donate 1/2 a kennel ($250). So, anyone want to go halfsies with us? Seriously, though, we encourage everyone to donate to this very worthwhile cause. To donate via Paypal, please visit the Peanut Pet Shelter donation page and click on the Donate button. If you would like to contribute towards an In The Roo kennel, please write 'In The Roo' in the notation field. We will ask Andy to mark the plaque as something like "Supported by the Members of In The Roo". If there is enough room, we can also list the names of individual donors. Please help Andy & Jen make the expanded Peanut Pet Shelter a reality! The dogs will luv ya for it!

We had a good day!
The crew showed up, cleared out some pesky brush and started the trenches for the wall foundation. ![]() ![]() ![]() We even had our first delivery today...stone for the foundation...woohoo ![]() ![]() There is A LOT of trash, debris and brush on this lot. We found out today that we cannot burn anything on the property - not even with a permit. So....we'll have a party soon to move all of this off site (volunteers anyone?) ![]() Nothing too unexpected today. We have some issues with tree roots and the foundation and a minor inconvenience of digging up electrical lines which we will have to move. Other than that, no surprises. No snakes. No dead bodies. No bugs, cuts or scrapes. A good day for the official start of construction. |

Cool beans. I will help with some clearing, as long as Migra doesn't mind.

Well...that big pile of rock...
![]() is rapidly becoming the foundation for the walls. Sweet!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We had a large crew today...and it's HOT! Kudos to those hard workers! It is very exciting to watch all of this come together and to witness the support that Andy & Jen (and the pups) are receiving. Keep it coming folks! |

Rick - Thanks so much for keeping everyone in the loop and up to date. It's fun for everyone to see where their donation dollars are going! This is a great idea.

Andy, speaking of trees, the guy across the street from us at the hotel wants to get rid of a couple of full-grown coconut palm trees. He basically said if we wanted them we could have them as he didn't want to just cut them down (that is if they can pretty easily be replanted, which I'm really not sure about). But if so, do you have any interest for the shade value? The only thing is that falling coconuts could of course be dangerous, but not if you cut them down as they grow. Let me know.
