Default Customs Travel Questions

Hi again everyone,

I know I've done this 3 times before, but I forget every year and never know if I am doing things right. I read the "Map Chicks" website where they inform you of the customs forms and what to declare and what not to declare but I have a few questions still.

I take perscription drugs as do both my parents. Do we need to claim these on our customs form?

Is there anything else we need to claim? We will be traveling with cameras, etc. Anything?

each form allows you up to $300 worth of whatever you are bringing. This would be one form per family. I cant remember what is allowed and how many of each-that you will see on the form when filling it out.

As for the precription drugs. You do not have to claim these. My husband and I each take four each and never had a problem. We do make sure they are in the original prescription bottle with our names and current.

You're kidding! You really brought a kitchen sink and didn't claim it?

lmao. Thats too funny.

Okay, so Im not going to get a huge fine if I dont declare everything I bring? What if I push the button and it turns red? lol. Last year I brought down TONS of items to donate and I didnt declare them and I was so nervous that we were going to get caught at the red light of doom and luckily we werent. But I was afraid we were going to.

Is there anything that I should declare? What if I bring a video camera AND a digital camera? It says one or the other on the website. Or what if I bring a Digital SLR and a Normal Digital Camera? Do I have to declare them?

We have never declared any of our cameras, video or digital.
Just acted like crazy dumb tourists with them hanging off our shoulders.
No one ever said anything.

I read yesterday that occasionally at Tokyo's Narita airport, Customs will surprise random travelers and place about $10 Grand worth of weed as a welcome gift ....Cannabis Gratis.
