It was a great plan from John and Libby, a great idea, I did not even mention to Jan Why did they do this on a school night? anyway, thank you for the report, I would have loved to go, it was nice to see the pics and your description was a lot of fun!

Like I said, I'm no longer up for "Mother of the Year". We didn't get home until near midnight. Connor dragged himself to school in the morning but I let the little ones miss a day. Bad, bad mommy.

I think you did the right thing, life is a collection of good memories like this!!! I am working on mine as well, just missed out on this one!

AC? It barely had bathrooms. It is all open at the roofline so there is at least plenty of ventilation...and bats.

It looked like it was in a basketball gym from the pictures. That was funny about the video being shown with all the lights on. Silly Mexico.


I now know why they sell all those costume masks on 5th...I figured it was some cartoon characters or something...we are blissfully childless. I would have never thought of wrestlers.

Excellent write-up Michele! Yes the whole thing was really quite absurd in a wonderful sort of way. Despite my state of dehydration and crashing blood sugar, I have fond memories of that night. I'll be posting my own pics and videos shortly.

Finally, I have some pictures! My cranky old computer was giving me grief, and Photobucket was acting all wonky on me earlier. It was one of those times when I just had to WALK AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER. All is good now, and here are some of my pics from our evening.

The tickets. The star performers of the evening are Mistico and Perro Aguayo Jr.


Birdie tries on a mask.


Saw a lot of people wearing these around their heads.


The wrestlers in the first act were clearly amateurs. They were so bad, but funny in that way that makes you laugh because you feel embarassed for them -- like watching Meet the Parents.




The next act of luchadoras (female wrestlers) was an improvement, and a lot of fun!

Here's Hiroka & Mima Shimoda, Japanese wrestlers now working in Mexico. I wonder if they had to go through hell to get their FM-3s?!


Even the referee was not spared the wrath of Lady Apache.


Hiroka about to whomp on Luna Magica. I'm sure whomp is the technical wrestling term for this.


Lady Apache shows Hiroka who's boss.

Birdie seems to be enjoying herself. We just had to keep reminding her that it was all pretend.


On to the next act. It just keeps getting better.

This evil duo is known as Los Cachorros del Mal (The Bad Puppies).


They fought Mascarita Dorada (Little Golden Mask) & Tzuki. This little guy was awesome and very springy!
