Hi, my name is John, also known as Drummer John. I'm 32 and looking for a band to jam with. 3 months ago I sold my drums and moved from Canada to Playa Del Carmen and I'm seriously suffering from a lack of playing music! I would love to find a group of musicians to jam with casually or even gig with around town. I'm into all sorts of music and have played with rock, hard rock, heavy rock, alternative country, and punk bands over the last 20 years. I don't have a drum kit at the moment so I would need to beg, borrow or steal to get by for the time being. I do have some recording equipment at my disposal and have the means to record a demo. I've been down to Bad Boys and played with J.J. and The Nasty Bastards a few times, and their really great, but I would really like to find a group to play with a bit more full time. If anyone knows anybody looking for a solid drummer, please let me know!

Hi John. Stop by the Mojo Zone on 5th and talk to Brad. (Upstairs and just south of the Tequila Barrel.) Brad is the band leader for the Culture Orphans. He's trying to put a live show together in his bar every night and that will take multiple groups. You might also want to sit in some night at the Jam Session on Ave 5 and Calle 40.
It's a little difficult here for gringo musicians as most of the bands use local talent. You might also want to think about putting together a band of your own using local musicians. Good Luck!

Hello John! I agree with Biz. The Mojo Zone brings in a number of local musicians and will continue to grow in popularity ( as soon as he gets his air conditioning hooked up). This is a great late night place to hang out, play some music and meet musicians. I know I plan on being there quite often when the air gets turned on. Until that is done, he has to leave his windows open and therefore can not have drums, keyboards, etc. because he will violate the sound/noise ordinance. I'll see you there! And by the way.....for anyone who is reading......John has played with The Nasty Bastards on several occasions and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a drummer! JJ
