Default Mom's hotel

Anyone have a recent (or not) experience at Mom's Hotel?
TIA, Craig.

No, but in our own planning, its location knocked it out of contention pretty early on in the process.
I think from your earlier research, you can find some good bargains that keep you closer to the "action" of PDC. On the other hand, it would put you right in the middle of a more authentic local experience.

It is very good for an extended stay. For a normal vacation, one week or so, there are better options closer to the action.

We have stayed at Mom's Hotel three different times. The first two times we really enjoyed it and didn't mind the ten or fifteen minute walk from the action. Rooms were not elaborate but clean and they provided plenty of water and some rooms had fridges, kettles and hot plates, etc. One year we stayed in their two room suite - kitchen/sitting room with a separate bedroom which we really enjoyed. We usually spend so little time in our room that all we really need is clean. One of the things I enjoyed about Mom's was that in the mornings early, they provided coffee and pastries and since I'm such an early riser, I could go down and sit and talk over coffee while waiting for my family to get up. The last time we went to Mom's was in 2006 and they had new people managing the hotel. We told them it was the third year we stayed at Mom's and how much we enjoyed it and they stuck us in a small room which was dirty and musty for more than what we had paid in prior years. They had removed all of the water coolers except for the one in the office. Seemed like the prices went up and the service went down. We only stayed one night and have not returned.

Hey, its my Buddy again!
Moms was recommended to me by "Lovebuds" (see the previous response to your question) on this site who we met on a previous trip and they seemed to like it. On their website they state they have "drop dead rates" and they do--something like $30 off season, per night. I would have stayed there- but they never emailed me back- perhaps you will have better luck! But you should really consider staying there! I did spot the hotel on my last trip and it is not too far from the action and an outstanding price for a budget hotel!
