Default La Feria

Took the family to the fair tonight. It was huge, with boatloads of people. Main stage had bands, merengue dancers, Yucatecan dancers, and a comedian. Sol Stage had Sol girls twirling their hair. The latter had more dudes watching.

Lots of food, rides, games and animals. Worth a visit. All the way in the back of Ejido, off of Constituyentes. Cops will direct you, and lots of signs.

Sorry, no pics. Maybe if we go back, I will take some.

Hey, that sounds cool! How long is it here for? Maybe I'll take the kids tonight. Do you know times, etc.?

I know it is here, at least, until next weekend. We went at 7PM, and it was already going strong. Started to get really packed around 9.

Mark, How do you find out about the ferias in the Ejido? I've never seen any banners/signs for them. Are they listed in any of the newspapers?

Hi Libby. This feria is the big one, so the ads are up all over town, especially along the highway. Now, finding it was not as easy as hearing about it. It is way back in the Ejido.

Today, we went to the Gran Carrera de Motorcross, which was real close to the house. Had everything from 9 year old kids to pros. I am covered in dust, as we located ourselves near the big curve. After, stopped in to the new HC de Monterrey, on the highway. Nice, big space. Same food. This time, I got to write something on the wall.

Thanks, Mark. Guess I'm looking in all the wrong places. I did see signs for the motorcross thing. I wanted to go to that but I thought it said it was only being held on July 19th. Glad you got to see it! It sounded pretty neat.

I blogged about my experience at midget bullfighting at opening day of the fair. Check it out.

Mark,

Last year Susie and Rick took us to the fair. You can see pics in my trip report - over there - under Bedeaway. Rick also started his thread about it called something like Unexpected Cultural Trip with Bedeaway.

It was alot of fun! Did they have the area where the vendors were selling plates, pots and pans and there were like 6 of them all talking into microphones REALLY REALLY loudly? That was wild!

The real Mexican fair was an experience that I will never forget.

Sorry, I missed this.

Yes, they had the vendors. It is funny watching people walk around with the cheap, plastic goods and tortilla presses, that they purchase.

I am headed back on Saturday. May pick up a bucket or two.

That's probably because you're listening on your Mexican radio. Try ours. We bought it in the US so I'm SURE you'll understand it.

Well, he certainly looks more German, than Mexican!
