Our ATV Adventure

Last week, a group of us locals (mostly) decided to have some fun, tourist style, on the ATV Explorer tour. Two hours of of riding (racing) ATVs through the jungle with a cenote swimming break was just what we needed.

We met up at Beer Bucket beforehand.

Along the way, we stopped for a short hike to this cenote for a refreshing swim.

We rode for a bit more.

Then, we made another stop at a dry cave where we got a brief lesson in stalactites and stalagmites. This cave had tree branches growing right through it.

And sleeping bats.

Sadly, our ride was almost over.

By this point, our group had gotten a bit silly.




This kitty greeted us at the conclusion of our tour.

Jason and I compare adventure wounds. Oh, did I fail to mention my off-the-beaten-path jungle trekking adventure? How ever did that happen?!

If you go, some tips:

• Do not wear your Sunday best! If it's dry, you'll get dusty and if it's wet, you'll get muddy!
  
• Wear the goggles and bandana they give out! Especially if it's dry. You do not want to be inhaling the dust of the speed racer in front of you.
  
• When driving the ATV ... If you zig, make sure to zag as well! I can't stress this enough. Failure to zag may result in an unintended jungle crash causing scratches and a bruised ego!
