boogie boards?

To pack or rent, that is the ?.
Are there places to rent them on the beach and if so how much does it cost? I have three older kids that could spend all day doing that , every day. We are thinking about taking an extra suitcase with beach toys, and giving some families the things before we leave, Would that be fun or what

I think you'd be better off buying what you need from Walmart or Mega, both of which carry beach toys. They'd be cheap and maybe it beats bringing extra luggage.

Your idea of leaving the toys with a local family is great. Maybe someone on this board knows of a less fortunate family that could use them - chime in if you do!

There is an organization called give a toy get a smile it is in Cancun but Holly Worton organizes this here in Playa.
The Red Cross also has a program to take Clothes and Toys out to the community. but we don´t really have a warehouse so please call don´t just drop them off. It is hard for the patients to see all those clothes and toys there.
If you want to personally give the toys away I know of several small comunities close to playa that can really use them

To rent the boogie boards I know Chema from Xaman Ha has a bunch of them and they will rent them to you for 2 USD,I believe. Otherwise they cost a bit under 20 usd in Wallmart, Mega You can call Isabel at 8730727 and she will be able to help you.

I think bringing an extra suitcase with extra clothes and toys for a family, or families, would be a great way for my sons 15, 13, and daughter 12 to spend a couple hours of their vacation. I will e mail you. Thanks for the information.

Folks whats it cost to go to the dollar store and pick up a pack of little cars or some things for small girls. The joy and the smiles u bring to a small child that has bearely enough to eat let alone a small toy is priceless.
