Cool Las Palmas condos

Has anyone ever stayed in any of the condos in the Las palmas building? If so did you like it? We are trying to decide between a condo and a hotel? Any suggestions?

I know Bumper stays there every year. you might try shooting him off a PM about it.

They are in a good location, right across the street from the Luna Blue.

I stayed there last April, really really enjoyed it, no complaints. We had a two bedroom/two bath. Can't beat the price! Great location, nice rooftop pool, beach passes to Mamitas, everything was perfect!

Don't they lock the front gates at night for security?

Yes they do! And if you can't get in, say maybe your hand is broken and you can't work it through the iron gate to unlock the lock on the other side (which is an odd set up BTW), then you can slump on the sidewalk right in front of the gate until someone opens it for you!

bwaa haa haa

or....you can stay at Luna Blue where you'll have no such issues unlocking the gate!

yes, we have. Rented from Peggy, she owns Palma Xiat

I remember they did lock the front gate, but we had our own key to get in and out.

We stayed at Las Palmas for 6 weeks in 2006 and loved it. The couple that look after the place are very kind and helpful. The rooms are a great size good kitchen ,nice to have the roof top pool but the beach is so close we did not use it much. You do get free beach passed to Mamittas which saves you about $8-10 a day on lounge and palapa rentals. Also you are withing walking distance to everything, but there are so many restraunts in the north end now that you don't have to go far for good food. If you read the Luna Blue Blog Tony & Cheri just talked about all the new places to eat and where they are. We would definatly stay there again if going for a long period of time other than that we stay at the Luna Blue which is right across the street. Hope you have a great vacation.

I suppose if we decide to stay at las palmas and we get locked out we can walk across the street and book a room at the Luna Blue for the night.

Don't worry you will not get locked out they give you a key and if you forget it just ring the buzzer and Jose will let you in. First time in Playa,be prepared to fall in Love....

I was just kidding, but good to know they give you a key. I can't wait to see playa for myself, it sounds like so much fun. Plus getting a little break from the kiddos is always a plus. Thanks so much for the info.
