Happy Anniversary T&C! I remember the first time we stayed at the Blue in February 2006...and it was obvious then and still is how much hard work you guys have put into your little piece of paradise! With each visit it just gets better and better!

Well I am happy to say I have done most of the list...looking forward to completing #6 and #14 in 3 weeks!

Of course #20 is my favorite thing to do...especially nice when all we have to do is jump off our swing and walk up a few flights of steps to our room at the end of the night... Can't wait to come "home" in 3 weeks....save a swing for Zoom and I!

You haven't really been to Playa until you...

Have experienced Tony & Cheri's warm hospitality at the Luna Blue. And that's all I'm gonna say about that. I mean it.

You have given us so many good memories, T&C. We love you. xo

Wish we could be there with you, right now. Miss you. xo

"You have not been to Playa del Carmen until" you have left Playa del Carmen Made ya think a minute, maybe some are still thinking. I am talking about actually doing something other than beer, beach and booze. Go to Akumal on the collectivo (some of us do it all the time, my wife just came back from her solo trip and helped many others learn how to use them) Go to Rio Secerto and walk under Playa, and the last is to go visit the ruins, I go to Tulum and just hang out for half a day and enjoy it every time. Once ya get out you really do see all the wonders the area has and then you have your adventures to ponder over while drinking beers and making new friends.

Without Question...
IF this is still available at The Luna Blue Bar...

I like mine poured over a maximum of 2 cubes of ice.

Sip, savor.
Repeat as necessary...
Definitely worth EVERY peso.

Good news for all you rum aficionados...The new Havana Club rum has finally made it to Playa... and the Luna Blue Bar!

Our liquor distributor told us last week that he had finally scored us some Havana Club Special Edition Cuban Barrel Proof rum. This is Havana Club's latest product.

They select the best rums from over 400 barrels of 12 year old stock. They then place this aged rum in new young oak barrels to age some more. Then it is poured directly from the barrel to the bottle. The result is a smooth, aged rum newly awakened with a spicy tang. For those of you who are into rum, you probably already know that this rum has gotten quite a bit of buzz around the world, winning a bunch of gold medals.

We opened a bottle the other night at the bar for a taste test by our good friend Wizz, owner of the Amante bar in San Francisco and rum tasting expert. He was joined by his close friend Adam, a successful Hollywood producer (Survivor, Contender, etc.). Both of these guys know their rum.

They both pronounced the rum one of the best they ever had. They tried it straight up and then on ice. They both had the same reaction...that the initial spicy bite of the rum is somewhat smoothed out by letting it sit on ice for a few minutes. Cheri also tried some, and her contribution? "Wow, that went right to my head!!"

And of course, the rum has the extra bonus of being prohibited by the American government as a Cuban product. The forbidden is always sweeter.

And Papa T's Margarita IS indeed special, although Jorge's Bar Standard Margy is very good as well.

The Luna Blue has a bar menu card with explanation of their special drinks, many of which were created or inspired by Tony and Cheri, or created especially for The Luna Blue Bar by one of San Francisco's better barkeeps...

How's this....you stay in a timeshare hotel in Cancun, take the collectivo to Playa.....and stroll into the Luna Blue, meet Cheri at the desk, and she shows you some of their rooms....never been there before...but....having read blogs, forums....knew it was something to see, and now, we need to make reservations.......Playa still has a smaller town vibe.....and people like Cheri and Tony, please try to keep it feeling like that.....along with this forum....John and Libby....keep it up! Thanks for the tour Cheri!

How nice, rodman

Love, love , love Tony & Cheri. The Luna Blue is what it is... all because of T&C. They have worked so hard and given their 'all' to make the Luna the 'best' Boutique Hotel to vacation at. No wonder the Luna Blue is so popular.

I can just see myself there.
I only wish that we could be there...right now.
