I got some inside scoop that a new look for the Ajua menu (much better flow and grouping of like items) should come out by the end of Oct. There will also be a few new things added and few things going away.

Should we assume prices will be higher with the new menu? We eat here just about every trip to Playa. We love this place.

Help please with ordering:

My best friend loves a good old fashioned Rib Eye !
Nothing fancy, just salt, pepper and grilled to a perfect medium.

How is the best way to order this cut of meat?

She has never gotten a true RibEye in Mexico.

Thanks tons.

John and Libby, I just wanted to say a big thank you for posting all of these menus. I hope you don't mind but I saved some to print out to use in my classroom. I'm going to have the kids do role plays where they have to order and do a presentation for the class. Each group will have a little "problem" they'll have to deal with (such as they're out of something, the bill is calculated wrong, or they don't have enough money and they don't take credit cards). First I'm going to have them study the menu for their group and find out about all the food listed (I'm only using the Spanish menus). This way they'll have to learn about Mexican food first and not ask me to explain what everything is on the menu (plus I'd like to know what some of the items are too! )

So not only are you helping out the tourists, you're educating our young 'uns!! I'll buy you guys a drink in Feb. to thank you!! That is, if Libby will come out and play!

That's so cool, Nancy! I love that you're able to use the menus that way! The problems you came up with are very practical for someone who might be visiting Mexico.

Next trip, we will definitely meet!! You know what they say about a girl who's all work and no play, right. I need to come out and play!

Debbie - I'm so sorry your ribeye question was never answered! I think it just got lost in this thread. Did your friend come with you on your recent trip? Did she try another ribeye? I think it's just a matter of picking the right restaurant that uses good quality beef. I don't think you could go wrong with Chicago Don Jose although it is pricey. We've had really great ribeyes at El Emporio, an Uruguayan steakhouse on the far north end for very reasonable prices.
