Default Kid Friendly Restaurant in Playa

Our grandson, Quinn will be 10 years old on March 25th! He and his sisters and cousins are looking for a cool place to party. (Mom's and Dad's & G'parents will be present.)

The older kids have been in Spanish immersion school for 3 years and are dying to try out their Spanish. Arcade games a plus!

Any ideas?

There's a fun place called Moy at the Plaza Las Americas mall, a few miles from the tourist center. They have arcade games, skeeball, air hockey and other such diversions. Most of the people who go there are Mexican, so your kids will have an opportunity to interact with other kids in Spanish.

Another option is the Parque La Ceiba, a park used almost exclusively by Mexican locals. They have a playground for the children, and also host a number of events and workshops that may be of interest. Every 3rd Saturday of the month, there is a handcrafts market. This Saturday, they are also celebrating their 2 year anniversary. You can see some pictures of the park here.

I don't have kids, so I'm probably missing something. Hope this helps though.

Oh, I do realize you asked for restaurants. I couldn't think of restaurants with kid activities, but I think that's because I never really looked for that.

I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant with games and/or arcades in it - like a Chuck E Cheese kind of place? I can't think of anything here, but all restaurants here are kid friendly.

My 10 year old daughter loves Moy, but she really doesn't make friends there. I would recommend just taking the kids to the park and turning them loose to play with the local kids. It takes them a while to warm up, but, invariably my daughter always makes several new friends each time we take her to the park. In no time, she's playing with other little girls, talking, laughing, etc. It's amazing how kids interact with each other and break through the language and cultural barrier. Mexican kids tend to be very friendly and curious about kids who're from a different culture.
