I've got a bottle opener and I'm saving up for a machete.

We had dog wash as usual on saturday , and though it was raining early on (and my damn windshield wipers decided to pack in while picking up it soon cleared up and we managed to get everyone (or at least the ones we could catch ) washed.
We have also had a few small additions this week.... First came the two little pups that i found running down a main road (Mango and Kiwi) then a friend of ours found little Felix alone in Plaza de Americas, the next two were given to me as the owners dog had a litter of six pups and she couldnt care fot them all and finally a man brought round another little girl that he found sleeping under his car and he was worried that she would get run over.
Here are some Puppy pics and a couple from dog wash
Kiwi
Mango
Felix
we have not named these babies yet
or this little sweetie

This little Pure bred Poodle also turned up this week but we are sure he is a lost dog, he was found near Ave 20 with Calle 30 and recently had a poodle cut and was wearing a collar with a little bell on it
puppy washing
and puppy drying
Tug of war

Hi all, ok we have done some rouugh estimates on cost for the new shelter and of course we were well under with our first guess, ive been told its going to be more than $5000 just for the materials alone (and that doesnt include the cost of clearing, roofing and fencing ).
However i have had an idea about finding business's to "sponsor" a kennel, where they could donate us a sum to build a pen and we would hand a large signn telling everyone who they are and whatever other details they wish to include, this would help them in raising thier profile as a caring and giving company .
We are planning on building between 15 and 20 large pens (approx 10ft x 8ft).
So if anyone knows of a business that may be interested (either here in Mexico or outside the country) please let me know.
Thank you.

Is there going to be another fundraiser anytime soon? It'd be cool if you did one a la the Bomberos fund raiser!! Spaced out a few months out, of course, so everyone's wallets and livers can recover in the meantime. I bet it'd be a huge success!!

I concur whole heartedly. I think there are enough good folks aware of the Peanut Pet Shelter and willing to support whatever is needed!

Having another fundraiser is an excellent idea and a few people have suggested having one, the only problem is that with all the usual day to day running of the shelter and vet runs, lawyer/immigration stuff to do and now the new shelter to plan and build i just dont have any time available left to organise anything
Not that i am complaining or anything, i am lucky enough to have a job that i love doing and some wonderful people that support us on a daily basis

What days are wash days, and can anyone come and help? 'Cause we'll be there for the whole month of July, and the kids really want to come help.

I think that getting people to sponsor the pens is a great idea. I may have someone who would be interested. What would you charge?

We just had a quick visit from Sideways, Loree and Raquelle who brought us down a great supply of meds etc, the dogs all enjoyed the visit and Loree got to see her E-pet Pogo who was more than thrilled to get some people attention.
Spud showed himself up by getting caugh on camera in an embarrasing position with Misha (even tho he has been done for over a year and a half!!) Misha was along with Trina and Bambi were all due to get spayed but they all came into season within 2 days of each other so we will now have to wait a little while to get them operated.
Luckily all the boys are sin huevos so no puppies on the horizon

Pics continued ...

Bingo is so soft!

Mateos playing fetch with some of the dogs.

The Dogman, himself.

They just adore Andy.

Laura brought in some beautiful kittens for a wash as well. (They were full of fleas!) I'll post those a bit later.
