There are almost too many to choose from...Babe's, HC de Monterrey (and there's a new one in our neighborhood now!), La Quinta Pasion, and more. But probably the place we eat at the most is La Pesca. The food is consistently good, the service consistently nice. And the owner Antonio is one of the friendliest people around Playa. There are so many nights where at the end of a long day a warm bowl of cazuela de camarones (notice, Mark, the PLURAL camarones!!
) just hits the spot.

Carboncito's for the totopos/salsas and the consome de pollo con queso
Il Panino for the bruschetta and hot Argentinians Chicago Don Jose for the Lamb Chops, the service, the atmosphere and our friends Dalia and Peter. Sushi Tlan because they get the rice right and they know I don't want cheese on my fish or lime in my soy sauce. El Fogon for the Charros and the nopales. El Guadalupana for the AC, ice cold beer and the mystery botanas that change daily. Cheuva del Chango because it typifies why we came to Playa and stayed. Dona Juanita because they welcome us into their kitchen for honest food. I'm sure there are more...... |
