El Paraiso would be my choice also. We live here in Playa and that's always where we go when we go to Tulum.

Mamitas charges $2 per chair and per palapa umbrella. Next door at Kool Beach Club the cheapest chairs are $4 each but the umbrella is free. Both places offer sunbeds. Mamitas is a little bigger, has a better stretch of beach (IOHO) and is cheaper. Kool offers a much, much better restaurant (both in terms of setting and menu) and a small pool. In high season chairs in both places are taken early so plan on getting a chair by 9:00 am.

Someone posted a while ago on here about Om Tulum, a new beach club. It looks gorgeous! http://www.tulum-playa.com/

Nope, once you've paid for your bed or lounger, you can stay all day! They will NOT let you bring your own cooler of beer and let you hang out on their lounger in their club space. You are welcome to bring your own cooler and plop on the beach on front of the first row of loungers though. Kelli and I keep a big fat cooler in the condo we use for our beach excursions. Especially to that $50 secret beach!

And not all places charge that...if you go further south on the beach in Playa to, say, El Pirata, you get your chair free as long as you are ordering food or drinks from them.
