Default What I Found Out About Ado Bus/airport

Hey all, Laura and I were down end of Jan 08. We arrived and left thru terminal 3. The bus to Playa was easy of course, out the door and to the right. The bus does go to terminal 2 to pick up more. Of course this does cause a longer trip to PDC. For the trip back to the airport and terminal 3, we were dropped off at terminal 2 right at the end where we use to come out and walk in front of terminal 2 to the other end to catch the ADO. When we were dropped off, we had to walk to about the middle of the terminal 2 building where there is a shuttle pick up to take you to terminal 3. All this is pretty easy, but more time consuming. Just thought I would bring this up for any newbies or oldtimers who haven't been down for awhile. BTW, hello Tony, it was good meeting you.

Oh, sorry you had to do that! Actually, the ADO bus will go to Terminal 3 after dropping people off at Terminal 2. At least it still did when I went there last in late December. Just make sure to pop off the bus and ask the guy to put your luggage back on the bus.

When we were there in February we came out of terminal 3 and made a left to catch a shuttle to the ADO bus at terminal 2. Got tickets at the shuttle bus.

Default When we used ADO

the end of January we were taken to Terminal 2. I got off the bus and specifically asked the driver if he was going on to Terminal 3. No. Which way to catch the shuttle. He didn't know. Everyone was getting their own luggage out from under the bus and I was surprised at the number of people that were departing from Terminal 2. This was a Wednesday, if that makes any difference.

A very nice baggage handler pointed us in the right direction. Waited a few minutes and were taken to Terminal 3. Never did see the bus we had taken show up at Terminal 3, but he had to; sooner or later! We sat outside at the Meeting Point and kept an eye out to see if we could spot the bus.

Someone, on an earlier post said if you take the Aeropuerto Express you get dropped at Terminal 3. I asked on that thread how/time whatever can you catch this bus, but never did get an answer.

Seems like it depends on the bus driver/bus schedule, whether you walk to the shuttle, or hang around and ultimately end up at Terminal 3.

Hey Dijo, we left on a Wednesday too, maybe it does make a difference. What Cosmo stated, if one is catching the ADO to Cancun bus station, one has to come out of terminal 3 and turn left and go to the area where we always went before to catch the bus to Cancun.

Thanks for posting your experience. I'd love to get to the bottom of this. But I imagine if I ask a few different ADO employees, I'll probably get a few different answers. Ah, life in Playa. You never know what to expect.

We had the same experience. They only stopped at terminal 2 and took all the bags off so clearly he was NOT going to terminal 3. This is different than what happened in August and it's my opinion that it seems to depend on the driver.
